October 17 , 2007: Zimek is proud to report a testimonial from the Maintenance Director of Kankakee County Sheriff's Department in Kankakee, Illinois:
"In July of 2007 the Kankakee County Sheriff’s Department purchased a [Zimek Decontamination System] and began using the system in our jail inmate areas. The system can be set-up and operated by anyone with minimal training. The system has met all of our expectations and works as advertised. On September 27th while moving the system to another facility the touch screen and human interface module was damaged and had to be replaced. I called David Sparks on September 28th and he put in motion the ordering and shipment of the replacement module to our facility and set a date of October 12th for a service call to install the replacement unit. I called David back on Wednesday October 3rd and informed him that the Chief of Correction had set-up a meeting with Cook County Jail of Chicago to demonstrate the systems operation on the same day he had scheduled his service call. David adjusted his schedule and came in of Tuesday October 9th at 7:00 pm and replaced the touch screen and module, so we could do our demonstration as scheduled. I would like to thank David and The Zimek Company for the extra effort and professionalism on this issue. I would strongly recommend working with the Zimek Company to anyone who is interested purchasing a [Room and Vehicle Decontamination System] for their facility."

September 6, 2007: Today Zimek performed a Dri-Mist® treatment on a “Land Yacht” in Miami, Florida using one of its yacht [decontaminating] machines. Luxury buses, often referred to as “Land Yachts,” suffer from the same infectious pathogens that contaminate all aircraft and marine vessels. Roy Beckett, Zimek’s Chairman, commented that, “Zimek’s [decontaminating] machines will be unequaled in [disinfecting] the indoor air and disinfecting surface areas in all passenger buses and should be utilized by all private and public transportation companies to enhance the health and safety of their passengers. Public transportation environments are responsible for countless health problems, particularly causing infections from surface contaminants like MRSA and Hepatitis C. In the first quarter of 2008, we expect to complete the establishment of Zimek’s Public Transportation [Decontamination] Systems Division, which will be dedicated to selling our products to all public transportation agencies, including school districts.”

September 3, 2007: Zimek announced the commencement of its Yacht Decontamination Systems Division today by applying a Dri-Mist® treatment in a 102 foot luxury yacht in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Luxury yachts and all marine vessels, including cruise ships, suffer contamination by infectious pathogens including MRSA, the Norwalk virus, toxic mold and insect pests. Zimek’s Chairman, Roy Beckett, supervised the treatment of the yacht which utilized Zimek’s D&I Plus disinfectant as part of the Dri-Mist® application generated by Zimek’s yacht decontaminatiing machine. Roy has recently been involved in negotiations with a large marine repair and paint contracting firm which is expected to represent Zimek worldwide in the sale of its Yacht Decontamination Systems. Roy commented that, “As is the case with all aircraft, luxury yachts and all marine vessels are virtual cesspools of infectious diseases. Until Zimek, there was no reliable means of [disinfecting] the interior air and disinfecting interior surfaces of marine vessels to insure that they are healthy environments for crew
and passengers alike. Now the time has come. And Zimek is the answer.”

August 22, 2007: Zimek christened the commencement of its Aircraft Decontamination Systems Division today by conducting a formal presentation of Zimek’s Aircraft [Decontamination] machine to members of Miami-Dade County’s Fire Rescue Med-Evac flight operations staff.
After the presentation, a Dri-Mist® treatment was conducted on one of Miami-Dade County’s fire rescue med-evac helicopters, a Bell helicopter model 412-EP. The demonstration was witnessed by the helicopter’s pilots, paramedics, and flight maintenance crew. Everyone at the demo was amazed at the comprehensive distribution of the Dri-Mist® micro-particles throughout all areas of the helicopter and that the treatment was also dry to the touch and safe because Zimek’s disinfectants do not contain corrosive chlorine bleach or hydrogen peroxide. Med-evac helicopters, like fire rescue units and ambulances, suffer contamination by the same infectious pathogens such as deadly bacteria and viruses like MRSA, Hepatitis C, Tuberculosis, and various strains of influenza. Zimek’s President, Kurt Grosman, announced that, “Zimek’s Aircraft [Decontamination] Systems Division will be dedicated to penetrating all aircraft markets for utilization of Zimek’s revolutionary decontaminating and disinfecting products which will be a welcome and much needed solution to the rampant cross-contamination of infectious diseases suffered by all flight professionals and passengers. Zimek will be instrumental in insuring that aircraft will again be safe for flying.”

July 1, 2007: The July issue of the Firehouse Magazine featured an important article, Is Your Firehouse Making You Sick?, written by Jason Schneider, Vice President of Zimek’s Public Safety Division.
Jason is also a firefighter/paramedic and hazardous materials technician with Broward County, Florida’s Fire and Rescue Department. In the article, Jason explained why “sick firehouses” are becoming more prevalent. “As firehouses age, they are more likely to become cesspools of contagious and infectious diseases,” according to Jason. “Because [firefighters and paramedics] are exposed to patients on a daily basis who call 911 for assistance, they are on the front lines of dealing with the risks associated with exposure to influenza, and more recently, serious and life-threatening infectious contaminants like Hepatitis C, MRSA, and Tuberculosis.” Jason also raised concerns about the cross-contamination that occurs when fire professionals unknowingly transmit dangerous viruses and bacteria to their bunk rooms after running calls, and to their homes and loved ones when they return home at the end of a shift. “We must focus our efforts to cure sick firehouses and insure that we are not responsible for contaminating our family and friends with infectious pathogens currently plaguing all areas of a firefighter’s work environment,” concluded Jason.

December 21, 2006: Zimek participated in a field test today of its new model Z-4060 Room Sterilizer in actual vehicle conditions inside an on-duty ambulance that was initially put into service in 2002 and had averaged approximately 8 patients per day and was in service an average of 350 per year since its initial in-service date (over 11,000 patients since service commenced). One stationary Zimek model Z-4060 Room Sterilizer vented a Dri-Mist® treatment through the front passenger window of the ambulance utilizing Zimek’s “Vehicle Sterilizing Overlay” for a mere 10 minute period.
The test was conducted by Microbac Laboratories which reported that the 10 minute Zimek Dri-Mist® treatment achieved the following kill rates of the referenced bacterial specimens located in various flat, vertical, and ceiling locations throughout the ambulance: (1) Staphylococcus aureus – 99%; (2) Coliform bacteria – 99%; and (3) Listeria inoccua – 99%.
These test results were amazing considering the fact that the ambulance field test was supposed to be for a full 20 minute period, however, it was halted after 10 minutes when the ambulance was required to return to emergency service due to a breakdown of another ambulance.

August 3, 2006: Montessori School of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina, announced today that since treating its two school facilities with ZIMEK, it has experienced a marked decrease in the number of communicable diseases within its student population.
Megan Nordoff, head of the school confirmed that, “Since treating our buildings with ZIMEK, we’ve seen a marked decline in the number of child illnesses. In addition, NOT ONE teacher has been absent due to illness! Overall, we estimate that teacher and student absenteeism due to illness has declined by approximately 65% throughout the year.”
Ms. Nordoff went on to say that, “Treatment of our facilities was quick, convenient, odorless, and safe. Both buildings were treated while school was not in session and were ready for use the next day, with no preparation on our part. We definitely will use the ZIMEK system as part of our quarterly maintenance so we can continue to provide a healthy environment in which our children can grow socially, emotionally, and academically.”
ZIMEK is dedicated to enhancing student and teacher safety in schools throughout the United States by effectively and efficiently killing bacteria in classrooms which cause illness.
July 12, 2006: ZIMEK announces completion of the design of its new Model Z4060 micro-particle generator which will constitute the fourth generation of design and engineering enhancements to the ZIMEK patent pending micro-environmental sanitizing technology which was initially introduced in 2004. ZIMEK’s engineers estimate that Model Z4060 will reduce ZIMEK’s standard treatment time by over 35% and more than double the micro-particle stream of ZIMEK’s EPA-registered disinfectants. ZIMEK’s Executive Vice President of Research and Development, David Sparks, stated that, “We anticipate completing beta testing of our new Z4060 Micro-Particle generator before September 15, 2006, and expect to ramp up production of this machine for sale to our customers on January 22, 2007.”

April 21, 2006: ZIMEK participated in a field test today of its Model Z3050 micro-particle generator in actual building treatment conditions inside two modular classrooms located at the Chain of Lakes Middle School in Orlando, Florida. The field test was conducted by Microbac Laboratories, Inc.
Each modular classroom measured 24 feet wide by 36 feet long by 8 feet tall for a total area of 864 square feet and volume of 6,912 cubic feet. Students had the day off and the classrooms remained unchanged without any disturbance to desks, bookshelves, books, student papers, teachers' desks, overhead projectors, dry eraser boards, telephones, and student work benches.
Existing bacteria samples were taken from 17 different locations in each modular classroom. Fourteen additional specimens (two each) of four types of commonly occurring bacteria and three types of commonly occurring molds were also added to each classroom and were applied to flat, vertical, and ceiling surfaces to test the three-dimensional effectiveness of the ZIMEK disinfectant treatment. The additional bacteria specimens were: staphylococcus aureus; escherichia coli; salmonella enteritidis; and listeria innocua. The additional mold specimens were aspergillus niger; penecillium citrinum; and stachybotrys chartarum.
Two different ZIMEK treatments were tested. In one modular classroom, two ZIMEK Model Z3050 Micro-Particle generators were placed near the center of the classroom and a 44 minute ZIMEK treatment was applied, utilizing both Micro-Particle generators simultaneously. In the other modular classroom, one ZIMEK Model Z3050 Micro-Particle generator was placed in the center of the classroom and a 95 minute ZIMEK treatment was applied. Test results are expected to be published by Microbac Laboratories in early May, 2006.
